Byron, Minnesota January 7, 2008 –
Transplant GPS is pleased to announce the addition of
the E-Traveler software to its line of RightWay
products. The E-Traveler is a series of electronic
travel guides combined with detailed maps of cities
around the world. In celebration of the 2008 Summer
Olympic Games, Beijing has been chosen as the featured
launch city for the E-Traveler series.
The initial offering for
Beijing has been designed with the visitors of the 2008
Summer Olympic Games in mind. To simplify the Olympic
traveler’s excursions, we’ve included a schedule of
Olympic events and Olympic venues. Whether you are at
your hotel, a restaurant or simply out about town, you
can find out what Olympic events are occurring and where
they are. Identify which venue you want to go to, select
it as a destination and you are on your way!
Unlike many navigation
systems, all RightWay units have text to speech
capabilities in English, French and Spanish. Not
only will it show you where to turn, it audibly
announces the name of the next street enabling you to
focus on the road. Combine turn-by-turn voice
guidance with the option of 2- or 3-dimensional map view
– complete with points of interest – and lane guidance
and you’ll be navigating complicated interchanges with
confidence.
Compatible with any
Windows Mobile GPS device, the E-Traveler contains a
plethora of information to make your travels more
enjoyable. Use the hotel guide to provide hotel ratings
and amenities, ensuring there will be no unpleasant
surprises. Search by location or type of food for a list
of restaurants, including the type and price of the food
served, ratings (where available), its location, hours
of operation and the phone number for making
reservations. The E-Traveler also provides visitor
information such as the currency, where to exchange
currency, holidays, and the location of hospitals. It
can even help you find the nearest bathroom, which is
not always an easy task when you don’t speak the
language.
Not sure what the local
attractions are or what you want to see? The E-Traveler
provides information on area attractions and local
history. A query for local attractions in Beijing will
list such places as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen
Square, the Temple Gardens and the Great Wall of China.
Tapping on the Forbidden City would provide information
on its history, the hours it is open to visitors and
where to go for guided audio tours. Select it as your
destination and within a minute you will be on your way
with turn-by-turn directions.
